‘runner camp’ is a two-story flagship store specialized for running and completed from the collaborative work of prism design and office coastline, located in the infinite plaza shopping center of shanghai, china. the concept of the project is for it to be an ‘urban athletics’ center, merging a sports shop and a gym. its aim is for people to run healthy and stylishly throughout the city of shanghai.

in terms of design, shanghai based prism design and office coastline feature a large and orange staircase that crosses the store diagonally. this clarifies the difference in height between the ground floor and the upper floor. to achieve the ‘urban athletics’ concept given to the ‘runner camp’ project, the design team applied industrial materials found in the region such as metal and concrete, which result being efficient sound absorbing and heat insulating materials.
